You know very well what “P” is. There is no need to clarify it.
Have you ever considered how your consumption of P has changed you as a person?
No matter how you feel when in the moment, you feel terrible afterwards.
That shame you feel can serve as a message.
Consumption of P
It is sufficient to say many adults consume P on a regular basis, and among those who do consume P, many of them consume it heavily.
But what sort of effect may this have on the consumer of P?
The Nature of P
Consumers of P may quickly forget, or ignore, this crucial fact: the subjects of the P you are consuming are mere actors, nothing more, nothing less. There isn’t an ounce of nature in the P you consume.
Simply put it, the actors in the P content are displaying themselves in a way they see most appealing.
However, it being appealing does not make it good. In this case, it makes it extremely bad.
Nature of Consuming P
You are entitled to your own opinion when it comes to this matter.
However, regardless of your personal beliefs, you likely can come to the following conclusion:
Consumption of P is not natural. The human brain is not designed to view P.
Over time, consumption of P changes what you want. Although you may still believe you want what you view in P, you actually don’t.
Self Reflection
I want you to take a moment to reflect upon your consumption of P.
Here are some questions that can support this moment of reflection:
- What were the circumstances surrounding my first exposure to P?
- Why did I return to consuming P?
- How do I feel after consuming P?
- What is the longest I have gone without consuming P?
- How does abstaining from P consumption make me feel?
- Finally, do I watch the same kind of P as I did when I first started?
Now, if you sought any honesty in answering those questions, you likely feel some a large amount of shame.
You likely, knowingly or unknowingly, to some degree plan your day around consuming P. Perhaps you do so in the morning, after waking up. Or perhaps you consume P after returning from school or work. You likely view P before going to sleep.
Why does consumption of P, which is not a human necessity, so pivotal to your daily routines?
You instinctively know consuming P is bad for you, due to the shame you feel right after doing so.
Taboo and Shame
Why is it so taboo to speak about consumption of P? With other harmful addictions, such as drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes, labeling it as harmful is a no brainer.
There are few reasons that can explain this:
- Addiction to P is relatively new, when compared to alcoholism.
- The nature of P is shameful due to the nature of the content.
- The signs of P consumption and addiction are more internal than external. In other words, identifying a chain smoker or alcoholic from their appearance is more straightforward than identifying a heavy P addict.
However, here at the Finnish Method, we would like to knock this taboo out of the court.
As shameful and embarrassing it may be to speak up about this issue, those negative emotions one feels regarding their consumption of P should never serve as an excuse to not be vocal about it.
The Dark Reality
Throughout this article, there have been mentions of “consumption of P”. However, that phrase should be reevaluated.
As you may have concluded after the moment of reflection, your consumption of P likely does not serve you well.
One may even say your consumption of P is lowering yourself as a person.
And for that reason, you shouldn’t view yourself as someone who consumes P, but instead, someone who is consumed by P.
You do not consume P.
P consumes you.
